Kathryn’s wall hanging ’Raw’ was displayed in the Art Quilt category at the Festival of Quilts which took place at the NEC in Birmingham, 29 July – 1 August 2021.
Over 400 quilts were on show across 14 categories.
For anyone who hasn’t been, the Festival is about more than just quilts: the Fine Art Textiles Award showcases a wide spectrum of textile art that transcends the craft and making process. This year the 25 members of the Textile Study Group shared their various approaches to artistic practice and process with their exhibition ‘Insights’.
Art Textiles: Made in Britain had a new exhibition called ‘Found’. Plus there are a huge range of workshops and lectures each day, and of course commercial exhibitors.

Fabulous story – I had no idea… interesting to see how they hung your piece
Thank you Rachel. All credit to Festival of Quilts and their amazing exhibitions team. All we exhibitors needed to do was sew a ‘sleeve’ on the back of our quilts.
