Patti Taylor is selected for Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024 (and 21 other Open Calls!)

Disappointed that textiles2020 had decided not to exhibit during 2024, Patti challenged herself to enter Open Calls – and was amazed at her success.

She was delighted that her book, Liminal, was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition – her second success.

Her textile book, Spurn, was selected for the International Textile Exhibition at Queen Street, Neath, Wales

Work was selected by the Week 45 Collective for Persephone Rising at 54 The Gallery, Salt and Stars, J/M Gallery, Portobello, Dark Materials Tell Stories, Murmeration at J/M Gallery, Dark Carnival at 54 The Gallery, Seven is a Secret at J/M Gallery

As a member of PRISM, an international textile group, she showed Liminal 1 and Liminal 2 (above), and a new work, Frayment, at their show, Edgelands, at the Art Pavilion, Mile End in April 2024. Cemeteria Real (see below) was also included.

In May some of her work returned close to the area of its inspiration at the Fronteer Gallery, Halifax. The Brig Emma was also included in the Summer Exhibition at Fox Yard Studio, Stowmarket

Three small pieces were included in Fronteer Gallery’s Tiny Landscapes exhibition during the summer, and a small book was selected for their Flowers show.

Spurn Scroll Book was included in the month long Celebrating Yorkshire exhibition at the Badger in the Wall Gallery in North Yorkshire

Here Am I was included in the House of Smalls exhibition up in Edinburgh.

Skull 2 was included in Skulls & Bones at the Fronteer Gallery in August/September

Three very different pieces were included in The Drowned World at 54 The Gallery, Shepherd Market

Phoenix Textiles held a successful exhibition, London Life, at the Barbican Library, where Patti had a selection of books and textile works on show.

The Binks and Cemeteria Real (see above) were selected for Land Water Sky at the Open Gallery, Halifax, and Spurn Night 1 (see above) was included in Fox Yard Studio’s show, Black & White.

A very busy year!
